The end of 2016

At the end of 2016, all that I can say that it is a wonderful thing. The wonder is the era in which we find ourselves. It is truly better that all the decades that I have live through. The knowledge that is at our fingertips astounds me. having always loved books and libraries, the fact that I have the worlds knowledge at my finger tips amazes me.
This is not a time to be scared of but rather a time to embrace all that is present. People may be scary but they always have been. The only difference is that we now can shine a light on them and show what is lurking in the shadows. The people of this era will speak up and say "hell no. not on my watch". This is astounding. No longer can evil men do what they have always done.
We are now more accepting of each others foibles. People no longer care about you ethnicity or your orientation, but rather what is in your heart. With the advent of Facebook and other social media outlets, we can easily see how people think and what concerns them. I have connected and re-connected with the most amazing people. I feel that I have got to know them and be accepted by them.
Computer games are an amazing form of entertainment. Humans have always found ways to pass the time of day. I think it is great fun to collect Pokemon, when I am tired of the game i will stop playing. In the past I have collected spoons, stamps, crystal animals and when I have lost interest in these, i have still needed to store and dust them. Our brains are being expanded by being exposed to worlds that we would never have dreamed of seeing. Should the zombie apocalypse ever happen, all the first person shooter games would have prepared us for the onslaught.
I have learned to do things like quilting from interacting with lovely people who have helped me with the knowledge that they have shared. they have been inspiring with sharing the beautiful items they have made.
I have been able to connect with family whilst trying to work out my family tree. I think this more that anything else has made me realize what an honour and privileged it is to live in the here and now. The sadness that I have felt for the human stories that I have interacted with have astounded me. The suffering that the pioneers in the past put up with was horrendous. We are the product of their endevours and not celebrating the here and now is an insult from where we come from.
I love this era and can't wait to see where it leads us. I think our children and grandchildren will live in a time that we can't imagine. Evolution of the mind may occur and we may all get on with each other.
Love to all that I have met and are going to meet, you have made my life an amazing mosaic.
