Waste

My current huge bug bear is all of the stupid middle age people who, after realising they are now old uggo's, decide that they have to re-vitalise their lives by suing celebrities 30 years after an incident. These silly women are now over 50 and they are trying to grasp a bit of celebrity for themselves. I think the world that we live in, where narcissistic notoriety can only be gained be rubbing up again a celeb, is totally gross. These stupid women should just pull up their big girl panties and deal with it. Trying to get money out of something that happened so long ago, makes me want to puke. The thing is that we all know that teenagers are revolting and I do believe that history is being re-written by these ladies to make out that they were sweet and innocent. I just call bull-****.

I had to think deep as to why I find the current rash of court cases so upsetting and realised that it is due to the actual horrors that are currently going on. In a world that has babies that are raped. In a world that has children being molested. In a world where rape happens almost constantly. The fact that we waste a single second on some dried up old person's fantasy life is too much.

While we on this , the fact that celebrities and state officials play nicely using rape as a corner stone of getting press coverage is once again a reason to feel bile rising. What a disgusting display. How horrid. How shameful. The world really should condemn your pithiness.

I do not know the solution to this problem. Thinking people would never do this and the animals who do these unspeakable act, will never listen. May they wither.

Be a thinking person!

Balanced?

I have having a philosophical debate as to whether at the end is life it all balances out.

Do our highs and lows cancel each other out?

Are our sorrows and joys given to us in equal portions?

Do we live a linear life as if we knew all of the sorrows and joys that life would throw us at the beginning would we be brave enough to take the journey?

Do each of us have experiences which touch us in a similar way or is it just a totally random crap shoot?

Being an inquisitive person I would love to have the ability to see into the core of people. I often look at people and they look like they are having a golden ride through life. Are they really, or, are they also experiencing devastation to equalise the gifts that have been bestowed on them?

The question is if you have cried your required bucket of tears when you are young, will you have a happy later life, or, is life just a bitch and your heart just gets tougher the more nonsense you go through?

It may be the fact that as you get older, you really appreciate the joyful moments and know that the horrid ones will pass.

I think the biggest life lesson is to take what life throws at you, but, don't take it too seriously. Everything passes. A new phase will eventually happen. And joys and sorrows are both viable human experiences and should be experience with full consciousness and not from inside either a bottle or a pill jar.

Have a glorious day and enjoy.

Happy Wedding Day

Here is the speech that I will be giving in for my daughters wedding.
See what you think:

Here is to the bride and groom.

My wish to you is that the love you feel today
stays with you for the rest of your lives.
The beauty you see in each other today
be visible to you always.
I hope your lives are filled Happiness and joy
and you have passion with all you say and do.
Should squabbles ever happen,
let them be swift and your forgiveness be true.

I hope your lives together will bring you to paths
that both of you will enjoy.
and Finally I hope that you always have something to strive for
and enjoy all of your achievements both big and small.

and finally an Irish blessing:

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

Reunions... really?

One of the many things in this life that I truly do not get is school reunions. Really. Reunions?

Why on earth would you want to go back to school after 30 or 40 years?

I have gone to schools on many occasions since I finished, but that is due to being a parent, and not in wanting to re-live my school days. My eldest child went to the same primary school as me and that was the closest I would ever want to go back to my school days.

There are a few reasons for going to a   reunion and none of them are good.
·        Wanting to show that you are now a success.
·        See if the popular girls got fat
·        See if the jocks were ever educated
·        Hook up with people that you went out with as a teenager.
·        Show off the person that you hooked up with

None of these are a good enough reason as far as I can see. Anyone who was a true friend would have been a friend through life’s ups and downs.

I suppose you could attend and show that you have won, but, how sad. The only way this could be an authentic experience, is if each person had to do a true biography of the intervening years.
How overwhelming would an exercise like that be? How could anyone then actually feel superior?

The whole thing is that anyone that had lived a life full of happiness and sorrows would be a more real person, than one who had only skimmed across life’s experiences. Then the size of ones butt and wallet would not be of importance, but, rather the dimensions of one’s heart.

Having made myself even sadder about reunions, I will wish you well whether you go to your reunion or not.

Happy Valentine

Romance is great, but should be done on every day of the year. Great flourishes should be seen for what they are; they are all part of smoke and mirrors and in no way a thing to be hankered after.

The idea of getting anonymous Valentine is just a little stalkish. Imagine the great steps forward we could make humanity if there was a celebration of honesty. It would be far braver to invent a holiday where people needed to be open and honest with a person that they liked.

The commercialism is all good and well and part of what makes the world go round, but really, why would you love somebody because they sent you flowers. This is the same stupidity that is shown by young girls who think they love someone due to the car that they drive or what their parents own.

Lust is a totally different animal, and if this is what you are after then for Pete’s sake, send as many bunches of flowers as you can and scribble in as many cards as there are people to send them to. It is after all a numbers game and you never know when you are going to get lucky. Just don't be sad when it fizzles out like a mouthful of pop rocks.

Who knows where love comes from?
Is it biological as in knowing that your combined genetics would make interesting offspring?
Is it having matching and complementary neuroses?
Is it coming from similar socio-economic backgrounds?
Is it some sort of ego boost?
Or lastly are we destined to be with specific people and if we are very lucky we can form a family with that person and live out our lives feeling secure and loved.

The whole thing of really being with somebody is that they get to know you through and through. This is not just the advertised cool bits, but, all the other bits as well. The bits that, if you are honest with yourself, you can sometimes get embarrassed about. If you have never felt any embarrassment about who you are at your very depths, then you are either an amazing human that is seriously evolved, or you are still reading the manufacturers opinion of you. Parents tend to talk you up, don't believe them. :D

After all of that, I hope everyone has an amazing Valentines Day. May I wish you a Happy Valentine and may love cross your path.

May your heart be all a flutter.
